RAW MATERIALS AND QUALITY CONTROL

Our juices, nectars, and other beverages as well as fruit juice concentrates and frozen foods are made from top quality raw materials, all of which undergo careful, multi-stage quality control and assessment based on the highest standards and best practices in our branch. Our contacts of many years with planters and cooperation with a carefully selected group of suppliers serve as an additional guarantee of quality. What is more, our production process is supervised at every stage. With top quality and health properties of our products being our priority, we do not use any preservatives.

We modernize our plants, introduce new management systems, implement the latest technologies, and build a professional team. Thereby we care not only about our staff’s safety and good working conditions, but also about the environment.

MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS

Hortex plants have implemented state-of-the-art management systems:

  • The IFS/BRC Systems guarantee maintenance of top quality and safety of our products. The IFS (International Food Standard) is an international food product safety standard designed by representatives of German commerce. Nowadays, 65 per cent of all companies in the world which trade food products comply with it. In Western Europe (except Great Britain), the IFS is the key standard for suppliers of large chain stores. Its British equivalent is the BRC (British Retail Consortium). It defines the safety and quality standards in food plants whose products are delivered to supermarket chains.
  • The quality management system compliant with ISO 9001:2000 allows us to maintain product quality and improve all processes in the company connected with production and product delivery.
  • Owing to the ISO 14001 system, our production is not harmful to the environment.
  • The HACCP system allows us to identify health risks to the consumer that may be generated by the product and then eliminate them or reduce them to a safe level. These actions take place at every stage of production and delivery of products to the consumer. Thanks to this system, our products are safe.
  • GMP and GHP stand for examination of raw materials and materials, identification systems for products, raw materials and materials, modern infrastructure, hygiene of production areas, staff hygiene, and plant protection.

Owing to the GMP, GHP, and HACCP systems, our products are free from chemical, physical, and germ contamination.

  • Finally, OHSAS 18001 is a work safety management system

All these systems and production processes are integrated into one management system. Moreover, our plants have been granted certificates by a DNV (Det Norske Veritas) certification unit, which confirms those systems’ implementation and operation.
